Hearing aid prices: what to expect when buying a hearing aid

If you’re in the market for a hearing aid, it pays to do a bit of research first.

This article explains what to expect when buying a hearing aid – including the range of costs and benefits, and how this translates across the Blamey Saunders hears product range.

If you’re new to hearing aids or looking to switch to a different product or brand, we’re excited to introduce you to the Blamey Saunders hears range of hearing aids.

Lots of people are drawn to the Blamey Saunders brand because of our Australian technology origins and innovative device range.

So, if you’re partial to a bit of “tech shopping” and drawn to all things small, sleek and shiny, you’re going to be mightily impressed by the level of technology packed inside our tiny hearing aid “powerhouses”.

Why do hearing aids vary in price?

As you may know, the price of hearing aids will vary depending on what technology tier it fits into. Like most technical devices, the more you pay, the more features you get.

A more expensive hearing aid gives you access to features that a base model device is unlikely to have. Depending on your lifestyle, this may be the difference between taking part in the conversations and activities you love – or simply missing out.

How do I know which hearing aid to choose?

Our hearing care professionals are here to make this process simple for you. Once you’ve had your hearing tested and assessed, our professionals will recommend a variety of hearing aid options based on your budget, listening needs and personal preferences.

Depending on your listening lifestyle, you might benefit from a budget-friendly device with entry-level features that make quiet conversations with others clearer and easier.

Alternatively, you might spend more time in difficult listening situations, like noisy workplaces, social events or restaurants. In that case, you might benefit from a hearing aid with more trailblazing solutions that address even the most difficult hearing environments.

How to manage when listening environments are busy and complex

If you work in a noisy workplace such as a hospital, a busy open-plan office or a factory, hearing aids can help by reducing the sounds you don’t need to hear, so you can focus on the ones you do.

For instance, our most advanced hearing aids have built-in directional microphones, which are perfect if you spend a lot of time in difficult listening environments, as they enable the hearing aids to focus on speech and know where it’s coming from – which is useful in both crowds and where there’s background noise.

Best of all, you can discreetly adjust the volume and switch programs in the palm of your hand using an app on your smartphone. Gone are the days of fiddling with a hearing aid in or on your ear!

But what about noisy restaurants, you ask?

Restaurants are a classic example of a difficult listening situation: people talking all around you, the clinking of glasses, clattering of plates, goings-on in the kitchen and sometimes, loud background music, all reverberating around the room.

All these noises can make it difficult to hear the person across the table from you. However, ingenious, built in features help change all of that, again, by removing the sounds you don’t need to hear – goodbye cutlery clatter and hello to easy, sociable conversations!

Price options: a price and technology range that’s right for everyone

The good news is that there’s a hearing aid at a price and level of technology that’s right for every budget and listening lifestyle. The Blamey Saunders hears range of hearing aids are small and discreet and available in varying technology levels. Plus, you get a choice of colour, too, which can match either your skin tone or hair colour.

What you choose comes down to your budget, hearing and lifestyle needs. Again, our hearing care professionals will guide and support you throughout this process and provide you with recommendations.

Just like many other technical devices, there’s a sliding scale of price in line with the features and benefits available.
